This research study investigates the relationship between cultural dimensions and female students’ choice to pursue an engineering degree. We plan to leverage a unique opportunity at Mississippi State University to explore this phenomenon.  The opportunity involves a partnership between MSU and the Universiteˊ Internationale de Rabat (UIR) has brought a group of Moroccan students (majority women) into the Department of Aerospace Engineering and prompted the PIs to pose the question, “How do some countries produce women and men engineers equally?”  With the U.S. unable to shift the 15%-25% women enrollment in some engineering fields, the PIs propose to examine the cultural influences in international students and American students with regards to their choice of degrees. This study is expected to identify qualitative factors that encourage women to pursue careers in engineering.
